It's nothing major... I have a kind of addiction to reading, and with global war against file sharing, more and more sites with free ebooks are either shut down or they disabled book downloading.
I understand copyrights, author rights and so on, but the thing is, I would bankrupt in a month if I were to buy every book that I want to read
The ones I really loved, I bought and stored on my book shelf for later rereading, but there are so many that are somewhere in the middle in quality, which I read to relax from everyday obligations but didn't consider buying because they are just not that special to me...
In times when kids are reading less and less and are spending money on new gadgets rather than on new books, I believe this will demotivate them even more.
I am sure my 19 year old brother will be more devastated for being unable to download new movies rather than books, but unlike him, I'm sure there are many teenagers who like to read, and can't afford to buy all the books they like...
I liked what one woman commented on this subject, how before computers and internet we all borrowed books from each other, and what's the difference in borrowing ebooks to each other?
I know, that in first example we borrowed books to our friends not people on other side of the world, but if we are going global, then this has to be part of that globalization, doesn't it?
Ok, enough of this, I just had to share with you my misery... I'm of to Amazon and Kindle editions... God help my credit card...
